I was born and raised in southern Alberta. I currently live and work in Calgary but I was living in Edmonton for the last 10 years. I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and was taught and mentored by artists like Roy Mills, Peter Hide and Isla Burns. Although, I originally went to the University of Alberta to play field hockey and study Forestry, art allowed me to be more creative and sensitive towards global concerns and the human condition and sculpture enabled me to still be physically demanding of my body like an athlete.
Since graduating, I did an artist internship at Franconia Sculpture Park in Minnesota where I both worked for the park and designed, built and installed a 1,000 cubic foot outdoor sculpture. I have shown work in Edmonton arts events like NextFest, The WORKS, Art Walk and was a participating artist in the Dirty City | Dream City transitory public art project with the Edmonton Arts Council as well as Ramble in the Bramble. I recently exhibited work in a collaborative show with local print maker Kelsey Stephenson at Harcourt House Artist run centre in Edmonton and mounted my first solo exhibition at McMullen Gallery at the UofA hospital. I have also been creating window displays for several local Edmonton boutiques for that last 3 years.
